Complex case consultation

Complex presentations often require more than another opinion—they require a deeper understanding of the psychological processes driving distress and maintaining difficulty. Sarah provides consultation to individual clinicians, multidisciplinary teams, and health services to assist with complex assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and team decision-making.

Consultations may be provided as a single case review or as ongoing support to teams managing challenging presentations, with particular expertise in trauma, personality disorders, eating disorders, functional neurological disorder (FND), persistent physical symptoms, treatment-resistant mental health conditions, and high-risk presentations.

The aim is not simply to answer “What diagnosis does this person have?” but to understand “What is happening here, and what does this patient need from us now?”

Professional development workshops

Sarah facilitates workshops on ISTDP concepts and techniques for clinical teams, training programs, and professional associations. Topics include anxiety regulation, defence identification, and working with complex trauma.
